Route
Day 1: Yodogawa Trail Entrance - Mt. Miyanoura - Shin-takatsuka Hut (accommodation)
Day 2: Shin-takatsuka Hut - Jomon-sugi cedar - arrive back at Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine
(Approx. 25 km in total distance, with 1,500 m of ascent and 2,000 m of descent)
*The descent may change to Arakawa Mountain Trailhead depending on weather, physical condition, or trail conditions.
Eligibility
For experienced hikers or people who have the ability to endure long hours of physical activity.
Required Hiking Gear
Hiking boots, rain gear for hiking (jacket and pants)
Overnight gear (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, headlamp, etc.)
Packed meals (breakfast and lunch)
Drinks (at least 500 ml, refill points available)
Snacks (easy-to-eat foods for two days)
Portable toilet
Large backpack to fit the above items, with a rain cover.

Packed breakfast: Parcels of bread are available at the lobby, which can be picked up before you depart.
Packed lunch: Orders are accepted until 7:00pm the day before.
*Orders must be collected prior to departure for the trailhead.

Day 1
5:15am: Depart from hotel
6:45am: Arrive at Yodogawa Trail Entrance
7:00am: Start trek
9:20am: Hananoego Highland Marsh
10:20am: Nageshidaira
12:30pm: Mt. Miyanoura Summit
3:00pm: Shin-takatsuka Hut (accommodation)

Day 2
Shin-takatsuka Hut - Jomon-sugi cedar - arrive back at Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine
6:30am: Depart from Shin-takatsuka Hut
7:15am: Jomon-sugi cedar
10:00am: Wilson’s Stump
1:15pm: Taikoiwa Rock
2:30pm: Leave mountain at Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine
4:00pm: Arrive at hotel

Designed for expert hikers, this unique trekking route offers the chance to fully experience Yakushima’s essence.Please carefully assess your fitness level before participating.If the climb back up to Shiratani Unsuikyo Ravine proves too physically demanding, the descent will be via the Arakawa Mountain Trailhead.You may be asked to carry shared gear like cookware and food.Course adjustments are possible based on fitness and weather—please discuss with us in advance.
